Breastfeeding is natural, but it doesn't always go as expected. That's where I come in!

So many mothers start off breastfeeding, but rates quickly drop as babies age. Why? Over a generation, we have lost our circle of support from mothers, sisters, and friends who can assist us in the ins-and-outs of breastfeeding. And without support, breastfeeding can be downright challenging. But that changes now with you!

I am Rachel Martinez, IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant), and I am thrilled to offer you patient, compassionate, evidence-based clinical care to help you meet your breastfeeding goals.

And I've been in your shoes. While nursing my four children, I've struggled with painful latch and mastitis. I've been the mom on an elimination diet to pinpoint food allergies.

I've been the mother who had to return to her job and hope this pumping gig works. I've been worried about my supply and concerned with my baby's weight gain. I've been nervous to breastfeed in public and wondered if a certain medication was OK to take while I was breastfeeding. I've been nervous and excited in the same breath, and I've also jumped for joy in each small success I've been fortunate to experience.

​This is the fuel for my passion to support you right where you are and help you find success in breastfeeding. I serve clients in and around the McMinn County, Tennessee area. This includes Athens, Englewood, Etowah, Niota, Riceville, Sweetwater, and Calhoun.

Other locations served upon request and may incur a travel fee. These service areas include Bradley, Meigs, Monroe and Polk Counties.
