I exclusively breast fed my three children, one with a complete unilateral cleft lip and palate, which required 18 months of pumping my milk for her. When my first grandchild came along and I was guiding my daughter through the breastfeeding maze, I realized that my passion is to help nursing mothers achieve their breastfeeding goals.

To that end, I returned to college at the age of 56, taking the classes required to apply to sit for the IBCLE exam (since my BA in English didn't include the science education I needed). A 500+ hour hospital internship provided the hands-on experience I needed to take the exam. I became certified in 2014.
