Bio

Mary works with expectant and new families in the DC area as a postpartum doula, La Leche League Leader, board member of the local nonprofit organization Birth Options Alliance, and is the mother of three children. In 2014, she became board certified as a lactation consultant. Her passion to learn more about breastfeeding and to support other parents in the early months of their baby’s life began after she had her first child in 2002, and had to navigate putting together a support network and seeking out help with breastfeeding as a new parent. She considers it an honor and a joy to support parents at this special time in their lives. Mary is a Registered Dietitian, and prior to focusing her career on lactation and postpartum support, she was a clinical dietitian at several area healthcare facilities. In her spare time, Mary enjoys volunteering in the community, and being involved in her adopted home town of Takoma Park, MD!
