My experience and love for Maternal and Child Health Nursing led me to assist new families in increasing their confidence and ability to breastfeed their infants. Personal struggles with breastfeeding my first infant, left me without the knowledge and support that I needed. This led me to begin researching and reaching out to help other breastfeeding families as a volunteer. I then became an ASPO Lamaze Certified Breastfeeding Specialist in 1996, and achieved my certification as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant in 2007. I am currently working as a Lactation Consultant in a hospital setting as well as private practice.
