Had both children here 5 Stars

I chose W&I since my provider delivers there. I also preferred this hospital over the rest. For both children, I had a wonderful experience. The staff are amazing, and put my mind at ease throughout the birthing, delivery, and aftercare process. I also enjoyed their breastfeeding classes–such a big help!! Very supportive environment. All in all, this hospital has given me two very positive experiences and I would highly recommend them.

Had my first baby here 4 Stars

My OBGYN’s practice delivers at W&I, which is how we landed on delivering here. I’d heard mixed reviews about this hospital, both great reviews and not-so-great ones from other moms, but our experience was a positive one. We had a tour a few months before our due date and were told a few key things that were helpful, like not to come too early or you’ll have to labor in triage and where to park (it’s ok to park in the 15-minute spots when you arrive in labor and need to get into triage ASAP — we didn’t move our car for about 8 hours and it was fine!)

The nurses we worked with were wonderful, calm, supportive and cool with our preferences, like having our doula there, using an aromatherapy machine, keeping the lights very dim, and not using pain medication. My doctor had just ended her shift before we arrived, so another doctor from her practice delivered my son, but thankfully she was wonderful. There was a point where she mentioned thinking about a c-section if he didn’t come out within a certain timeframe because his heart rate would drop a bit with each contraction, but with the help of my husband and our doula we were able to explain that we didn’t want to go that route unless it was necessary.

I was able to deliver my son shortly thereafter (everyone supported our request for delayed cord clamping) and the team of nurses was just the best: so happy for us, so genuinely impressed that I hadn’t used an epidural (I get the sense that they are very common at this hospital because multiple people asked me multiple times if I was sure I didn’t want one, which was a bit annoying since I kept saying no). After the doctor left, the nurses helped us acclimate, helped me use the bathroom, etc.

We didn’t feel rushed, but eventually, they did help us move to a recovery room where someone came to check on us hourly (this was both great and a little frustrating as we never really got any sleep). A lactation consultant came by soon after we moved to a recovery room to give me some pointers and answer questions. They encourage rooming-in and lots of skin-to-skin contact, all things we had planned to do and were happy to know would be supported.

After we were home and I was trying to figure out breastfeeding on my own, I called the hospital warm line for some tips. It was somewhat helpful, but I found the guidance from my doula a lot more useful and practical. Overall, it was a good experience for us because the nurses we had in our room were great and the doctor who delivered my son was patient and really listened to us. The facility is designed solely for childbirth, so it felt like all the bases were covered as far as what we might need and general support. Given the choice, I would deliver here again.

Both of my children were delivered here 5 Stars

I chose W&I mainly because my provider delivers there but also because it is a great hospital. My pregnancies were low risk and with both I had to be induced at almost 42 weeks. I had no problems with the induction. Everyone was kind and informative with the whole process. I was definitely more nervous the first time but the nurses were always calm, supportive and reassuring. My deliveries both went well and our stay after was great. My husbands only complaint would be the pull out bed that he had to sleep on was terribly uncomfortable. However between the nurses checking on you and a newborn you don’t get much sleep. Overall we had a great experience there and knew we were in great hands. I would definitely recommend to anyone!
