Bio

Rebekah became interested in birth after the arrival of her daughter by c-section in 2009. After giving birth by VBAC at home to her son in 2011, she was drawn to doula work and is certified through Childbirth International. Incorporating knowledge of evidence-based care and compassion into her work with mothers and babies, Rebekah respects and facilitates the right of the mother to informed consent and refusal and promotes mother/baby bonding during the first hours after birth. She hopes to help her clients own their experiences by providing practical support and information resources covering pregnancy, birth, the postpartum period, and breastfeeding. Rebekah frequently updates her knowledge base through reading and practice, and attends ICAN meetings on a regular basis. Rebekah is also a certified postpartum doula, childbirth educator, and breastfeeding counselor.
