I can’t say enough about how amazing Melissa’s support was for the birth of my children. I had 2 very different births. The first one, my daughter was born at 34 weeks due to complications and ended up with a C-section. 3 years later, I became pregnant again and hired Melissa. This time I actually had a full term pregnancy and went into labor! She came to my house to help me labor before we headed to the hospital. She was amazing. She brought a bag full of useful things like lights, knee pads, rebozo, drinking straws. She played music, offered encouragement, helped me prepare for each contraction by having a plan for positioning and breathing. Even when I went through transition at the hospital, it all felt doable because she helped encourage me that everything was normal, just focus on breathing. My baby ended up being “sunny side up” and she helped to turn him using positioning and a rebozo at the last minute since she is trained in Spinning Babies. I truly think that without her, knowledge in Spinning Babies my birth would have ended in another C-section. I am so grateful for the support she offered to me, my husband, and my baby.
