Asako Miyashita is a registered dietitian nutritionist, integrative functional dietitian, and New York State of Certified Dietitian Nutritionist. Her nutrition career started more than 20 years ago. She offers medical nutrition therapy using based on whole food nutrition principles for various medical conditions, especially diabetes, hyperlipidemia, weight control, thyroid issues, gynecologic cancers, reproductive health, hormone imbalance, mental health, etc. She has done many nutrition lectures and has been writing nutrition articles on a variety of diseases, foods, and the role of diet in improving and maintaining health. She holds Master of Science of Nutrition Education in Health and Behavior Studies from Teachers College, Columbia University, and Bachelor of Science of Food and Science in Home Economics from Tokyo Kasei Gakuin Women's University. She is also a certified macrobiotic diet instructor.
