What is Sodium Lauryl Sulfate used for?
Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, also known as SLS is an anionic surfactant. Its amphiphilic properties make it an ideal detergent. SLS is a very effective ingredient used in many skincare cleaning products as creams and lotions. Acting as a surfactant, it wets body surfaces, emulsifies or solubilize oils, and suspend soil. SLS contributes to foaming and lathering properties in cleansing products and bubble baths.
