What is Cocoa Butter used for?
Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) seed butter has been shown to contain high concentrations of plant flavonoids and polyphenols1. The oil exhibits anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, anti-allergenic and antioxidant properties that are beneficial for skin treatment. Cocoa butter is high in saturated fatty acids2 making it an excellent and stable skin moisturiser and skin emollient. It is also reputedly good for stretch mark removal but this fact is still open to debate.
