These ingredients are reported to function in cosmetics as skin conditioning agents. Cucumber is a commonly consumed food and generally recognized as safe. The focus of this assessment was the dermal exposure to the low concentrations of these ingredients as used in cosmetics. Many of the components of these Cucumis sativus (cucumber)-derived cosmetic ingredients have been previously assessed for safety as cosmetic ingredients.
