Amanda CD(DONA) is a certified birth doula with DONA International, trained in VBAC, and Rebozo Uses for Pregnancy and Labor. She is a wife and mother of 2 who has literally lived from coast to coast. She attended her first birth as an untrained doula in 2011 in southern Indiana. In 2014 she trained to support birthing moms in Louisville, Kentucky. In 2017 Amanda moved to Charleston and continues to doula with the professional support of the doula group. She thinks birth is a deep experience her clients can look back on and draw from. She enjoys birth work because she feels God’s love during these most intimate moments with families. Her greatest joy is to witness the effect that decision-making power has in the hands of her clients. When they tell her things such as, ‘Our appointment with our care provider went soOo differently than our previous ones! We know our physician understands and supports our wishes for this birth, and we even discussed various options in detail.’
