As a childbirth and postpartum doula, I love helping families of all shapes, sizes, and configurations welcome a new baby. I became a doula because I know that it is extremely valuable for families to have a well-trained, experienced, calm, and knowledgeable guide by their side during pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. I consider it an honor to play a small role in these precious moments, and I continue to be gratified when my presence makes a positive difference for families. I have attended roughly 50 births, and have experience supporting high-risk cesarean deliveries, completely natural home births attended by a midwife, and many variations in between. As a certified lactation counselor, I am well equipped to provide breastfeeding guidance and support and to help you get off to the best possible start during those critical early days. I believe that the experience of the birthing person matters and that she should be treated with dignity and respect throughout, that her voice is heard, and that she and her partner have access to evidence-based information. Other than that, I do not come to the process with any particular agenda. I believe that you and your loved ones are in the best position to make your own informed choices. My goal is to help you to have the childbirth experience you want, whatever that looks like for you.
