Bio

I am a certified birth doula and lactation counselor, postpartum doula, and a founding member of the Tallahassee Doula Co-Op. In addition to doula work and lactation counseling, I am also a freelance writer and editor and an arts and crafts extraordinaire. I am editor of DONA International's eDoula Newsletter and work at Florida State University, my alma mater. I attended my first birth in 2005 and immediately knew I was where I wanted to be — serving women and their families during the birth process. My favorite part of being a doula is witnessing the birth of a new family — the smile on a new mother's face, and a hug from a new father are two things I look forward to the most. I started Bold Birth after giving birth to my daughter with the hopes that increasing my visibility as a doula and lactation counselor could help me stay at home with my children.
