Bio

Lia is a certified Ayurvedic health counselor, a DONA-certified birth doula, and DONA-trained postpartum doula. Lia graduated from Amherst College in 2009. After backpacking through India, she fell in love with Ayurveda, an Indian system of holistic medicine. Returning home with a renewed sense of purpose, she decided to build an Ayurvedic health practice with a subspecialty in women's health. Ayurveda is a profoundly effective tool during times of transition, and there is no greater—or more beautiful—season of change than the period of pregnancy. As an Ayurvedic doula, Lia works with her clients to cultivate presence and awareness during pregnancy, and throughout all periods of change and renewal. Lia is a firm believer that in healing and empowering others, we heal and empower ourselves. She brings this belief to all areas of her personal and professional life. Lia is also fluent in French, proficient in Italian and Greek, and very quick to laugh.
