I am a doula by natural calling. People of all lifestyles, birth preferences, and parenting styles are welcome at Doula Woman. This is both my job and my life now. Lactation support, partner support, Yoga, Spinning Babies, Reiki, relaxation, provider compatibility assessment, and more are options here. You choose from birth, postpartum, birth-postpartum combo., and deluxe doula. Virtual support is an option. What happens during your pregnancy, birth, and postpartum affect you, your baby, and your family for your life and for generations on down.
I worked in-hospital in cardiology for decades so I bring you in depth experience and knowledge of medical management.
Birth experience: VBAC, highly medically manged births including inductions, csections, epidural, fast labors, long labors, "high risk" pregnancies, premature babies, clients with anxiety/PTSD/addiciton, single people, LBGT, clients of various ages, fully present partner, not so involved partner, people who choose to keep bodily sovereignty, in need of reduced fee, NICU babies, and more.
Postpartum: listening, grounding ceremony, lactation/bottle feeding/pumping support, time for you to sleep, partner circle, help with siblings/pets, walks, chores, errands, an more. I worked in-hospital in cardiology for decades so I bring you in depth experience and knowledge of medical management.
I am always learning and most of all I learn from my clients. And I continue networking and learning/sharing with fellow birthworkers and ongoing education. I just finished Herbal Birthworkers and am now (March 2020) reading for the June training in Rebel Radical Birthkeepers.
I walk and all around town and when not social distancing due to a pandemic I teach and practice yoga and reiki, day-care work, hang out with friends and family, swim, and volunteer at the Riverwest Co-op.
