I've been a board certified lactation consultant (IBCLC) since 2011 and have worked with hundreds of families in New York City.

When my older daughter was born in 2007, I had no idea breastfeeding was going to be so hard! We had so many problems in the beginning, and when I reached out for help, I had no idea I was about to launch myself into a whole new career. After getting amazing help and support from IBCLC Catherine Watson Genna, I began attending La Leche League meetings in my home neighborhood of Sunnyside, Queens. I became fascinated by everything related to breastfeeding, and by the time my younger daughter was born in 2010 I had completed all the educational requirements to sit for the board exam to become certified as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. I finished my clinical requirements in 2011 and passed the exam that same year. I've been in private practice ever since.
