Bio

Deborah grew up in Rocky Mount, NC and moved to Chapel Hill in 1989 to attend UNC. After working in psychology research, she decided to pursue nursing. After obtaining her Master’s in Nursing at Vanderbilt University, Deborah worked as a Nurse Practitioner in a private OB-GYN practice in Durham. She then moved to Sacramento, CA and Bristol, TN and held various positions including labor and delivery nurse, provider at a Nurse Practitioner-run clinic serving vulnerable populations, and nursing instructor. Deborah and her family, that now included a daughter, returned to Chapel Hill in 2006 and her son was born in 2007 at Women’s Birth and Wellness Center. She joined WBWC in 2010 to provide care for women of all ages. In 2012, Deborah became an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant and joined our lactation staff.
