After over 10 years as a nanny, I honed my infant care skills and broadened my services to include support for parents as well. As a postpartum doula, I had the platform to offer more comprehensive care and education to new families. It was in this role that I began to take notice of the unfortunate lack of breastfeeding, infant feeding, and lactation support postpartum.
My growing concern about the impact this was ultimately having on infant and parent physical and mental health is what lead me to pursue a career as an international board certified lactation consultant (IBCLC).
After passing the IBCLC exam, I spent some time employed at a busy 501c3 non-profit outpatient center in the Philadelphia area. Each and every family that I've had the pleasure of working with so far, has inspired and motivated me.
I enjoy contributing to local breastfeeding associations. I am currently serving as the Secretary on the board of directors for PRO-LC (the Pennsylvania Resource Organization for Lactation Consultants), a 501c3 non-profit.
Full of passion and drive to search for better maternal/parent/infant mental health support, I enrolled at Immaculata University. I am currently pursuing a Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counselling. Shortly after being inducted into the University's Honor Society, Beta Mu, I was elected to serve on their executive board as Secretary. Through this platform, I have begun to pursue research pertaining to infant oral aversions and feeding refusals from breast, bottle, and spoon. I'm excited to share my work with you soon!
My intention is to offer holistic postpartum support to families of all shapes, colors, and sizes. By nurturing your mind, baby, and breasts/chests, I hope to help you in navigating the waters of parenthood until you can find what works best for you and your family.
