My passion for helping mothers has come from both my experience as a new mother and the experience I have from working in Women's Health as a registered nurse. In 2006, it was uncommon to have help with breastfeeding. At that time I struggled maintaining my milk supply when I went back to school six weeks after having my oldest daughter. I breast fed her for about 6 months not understanding the principals of breastfeeding. I look back now and wish I had access to a lactation consultant. My mission now is to help moms reach their breastfeeding goals.
I have dedicated that last ten years of my career working with mom's and babies in various roles in the hospital. I started working at Christus St. John's in labor an delivery from 2008-2011. I then moved to working as a labor and delivery nurse at Memorial Hermann Southeast full time until 2014 when I official stepped into the official role off lactation support as a Certified Lactation Counselor. I transitioned into the role as an IBCLC in 2015. My specialities include Labor and Delivery, Postpartum Care, Newborn Care, Education. My passion is helping parents with transitioning their new babies into this great big world.
