Bio

Brandi began her undergraduate work at Ohio State University and she completed her studies at Finch University of Health Sciences/Chicago Medical School, graduating from their acclaimed Physical Therapy program in 1996.

She started practicing women's health in 1997 and became a women's health coordinator in 2003. It was at this time that she created the Women's Health program at Northwest Community Hospital's Wellness Center in Arlington Heights, Illinois. During 2004 and 2005 she was the Women's Health Specialist at Women's Physical Therapy Institute in Lake Zurich, Illinois. In 2006 Brandi founded Kirk Center for Healthy Living. The center is a specialty center focusing on the treatment of pelvic and visceral conditions.

Brandi is currently conducting multiple research projects with Dr Denise Elser, of Women's Health Institute of Illinois, for future publication. She is also a teacher for The Barral Institute and Herman & Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute. Brandi was a 2008-2011 board member for the Chicagoland Pelvic Floor Research Consortium. In 2012 she was chosen to be a Subject Matter Expert by the Herman & Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute to assist in the development of the Pelvic Therapy Practitioner Certification. She has also created 2 on-line courses through MedBridge Education. Brandi is the creator of the Pelvic Health Table, which can be found through Current Medical Technologies. Brandi is also the creator of The Kirk Pelvic Eval. The CD of the Eval form can be found through Current Medical Technologies and a full EMR product containing the pelvic evaluation can be found through Hands On Technology's EMR TheraOffice.

Brandi is a member of the APTA Section on Women's Health, the APTA Private Practice Section, the International Pelvic Pain Society and the International Association of Healthcare Practitioners. Her skill-set is rooted in manual therapy with an emphasis on visceral manipulation, myofascial release, internal vaginal/rectal releases, connective tissue manipulation and nerve mobilizations. As of 2012 she is one of only 3 practitioners in the state of Illinois to complete the Barral Institute's Visceral Manipulation core series of levels 1-6 and their Listening Course. She is currently preparing to become a Certified Visceral Techniques Practitioner and a Certified Visceral Manipulation Practitioner through the Barral Institute. She trains her existing physical therapists for at least 4 hours a week in these manual techniques.
