Diana Fassett earned her Bachelors of Science degree in physical therapy from the University of Vermont, and has practiced physical therapy in Tucson, Arizona since 2000. Diana initially worked as a multidisciplinary physical therapist, including two years as a liaison physical therapist to the emergency department at St. Joseph’s Hospital. During her clinically rotations for her physical therapy curriculum, she first discovered women’s health physical therapy. In 2001, when she was presented with an opportunity to begin working with women’s health patients, Diana recognized an unmet need and became aware of the numerous individuals who lack proper diagnosis and education regarding their pelvic floor symptoms. Diana has devoted the last 14 years creating comprehensive pelvic floor physical therapy and wellness services, including educational lectures to patients, peers, and professional colleagues. to read more about pelvic floor dysfunctions click here…
Diana first obtained a Bachelors of Science in Exercise Science with a minor in Health Studies from Iowa State University in 1987. Diana then spent five years in Kansas City working in areas of corporate fitness, hospital-based wellness programs, personal training, and coaching. She also followed her love of horses and volunteered for an equine-assisted therapy program. Working with clients undergoing physical rehabilitation, she was inspired to broaden her skills by returning to school to pursue a career in physical therapy.
As the area of “women’s health” has evolved into comprehensive pelvic floor physical therapy for men, women, and children, Diana now specializes in the evaluation and treatment of multiple pelvic floor conditions. In addition, she maintains a passion for incorporating her sports and athletic background into her physical therapy sessions with endurance sport athletes and equestrian enthusiasts. Having competed in multiple triathlons and run the Big Sur Marathon, Diana can appreciate the physical requirements for the endurance athlete to return to competition. She works with patients and athletes of all levels; optimizing symptom resolution through functional movement rehabilitation.
