Icon underwear: A review

I bought three pairs of Icon Underwear and have been wearing them every time I do yoga. I am planning to start my running routine again once the weather warms up, and I will definitely be trying out the bikini styles.

Some activities make my UI worse. Unfortunately, some of those are activities I really enjoy, like exercise, and yoga in particular. I love to practice everywhere: with a group, on a beach, at a resort, at the gym, and in my own home. But there’s nothing worse than finally perfecting your downward dog to find out you have a downward drip as well.

That’s why for a while, I found it easier and less stressful to work out at home, just in case I experienced a leak. But discovering smart workout clothes that have a dual purpose has changed that and lets me workout wherever and whenever I please, without having to worry about leakage. I wear absorbent yoga pants, but I was particularly excited to try absorbent underwear for extra protection. When I heard about Icon Underwear, made by the same people who made THINX period-proof panties, I couldn’t wait to try them out.

Icon Underwear come in both light and moderate absorbencies, which can handle anything from just a few drips right up to eight teaspoons worth of surges. I liked the hiphugger style, which made me feel secure. The underwear feels soft, although if you rub the gusset part between your fingers you can definitely feel the added material and secret liner inside. I didn’t notice it once I had them on though, and they are certainly less intrusive than the feel of a pad. During floorwork in my yoga class, they stayed put, coped with sweat and a few dribbles, and felt fresh hours afterward when I was enjoying a post-stretch coffee. Icon features a range of styles, including thongs, which are great underneath skin-tight yoga pants.

One of the best things about Icon Underwear is you can try them out for 30 days, and if they don’t work for you, you can simply return them. I also really appreciate the company’s positive ad campaign, website, and packaging that aims to dispel the stigma associated with UI—because, really, we have enough to worry about. A little bladder leakage isn’t the end of the world and shouldn’t stop us from doing the things we love to do.

I bought three pairs of Icon Underwear and have been wearing them every time I do yoga. I am planning to start my running routine again once the weather warms up, and I will definitely be trying out the bikini styles. As they come in five colors, I will even be able to coordinate them with my running outfit!
