Up & Up pantyliners: A review

This reviewer thinks Target’s Up & Up pantyliners are so good. So much so that she keeps two boxes on hand for everyday use.

When it comes to pantyliners, they can be a mixed bag. There are good ones, bad ones, and great ones, and the best value I have found on pantyliners that actually do their everyday job well is from Target’s own Up & Up brand.

For less than $5, I got 96 pantyliners, which is like hitting the pantyliner lottery in terms of value. Target compares them to the U pantyliners by Kotex, which run almost $6 for 40 pantyliners. I don’t know about you, but I will go cheaper for more quantity almost every time. I like a longer pantyliner for comfort and my own self-confidence, so I was glad they came in a long size, as some brands do not. Boasting cotton-like softness was a bit of a stretch from their marketing department, as they are not quite cottony or exceptionally soft, but they aren’t uncomfortable. Though I wasn’t super thrilled with the way they felt, the way they worked tickled me pink.

With a super-strong adhesive (I had to tug quite hard to get mine off my underpants), these thin liners stay strong and in place all day. I actually value a good adhesive over a soft-feeling liner, so, for me, these get an A+  for adhesive.

When it comes to leak protection, they kept me dry and feeling clean all day. I wore them on regular days, meaning leaks were possible but not probable, and I never once felt moisture or like I needed to change them often. They are marketed for light days, and that was spot-on for me.

They’re fragrance-free, so they were not irritating to my skin as other brands’ scented liners have been, and their thin size made them very easy to conceal in my wristlet. I took these with me to Disney World for a week in February, and their absorbency and size made it easy to enjoy myself on vacation while not worrying about leaks.

When it comes to value and quality, these pantyliners hit the nail on the head. While not the softest liners I have tried, they make up for it with awesome adhesive and absorbency. I’ve made friends in the feminine hygiene aisle (what, you haven’t?), and these liners get my recommendation every time. They’re so good, I keep two boxes on hand for everyday use.

Editor’s note: A quick word of caution: Not all all-purpose pads and liners are good for UI. Period pads and UI pads are designed differently to suit their different purposes, so using UI-specific products is recommended—but you should do whatever works best for you!
