What we know about taking Alosetron while pregnant

Reproduction studies have beenperformed in rats at doses up to 40 mg/kg/day (about 160 times the recommended human dose basedon body surface area) and rabbits at oral doses up to 30 mg/kg/day (about 240 times therecommended daily human dose based on body surface area). These studies have revealed noevidence of impaired fertility or harm to the fetus due to alosetron. There are, however, no adequateand well-controlled studies in pregnant women.
